From Pastor Peter in India

Dear Pastor Wright,

Psalms 98: 1-3 "O sing unto the Lord a new song; for he hath done marvelous things: his right hand, and his holy arm, hath gotten him the victory. 2 The Lord hath made known his salvation: his righteousness hath he openly shewed in the sight of the heathen. 3 He hath remembered his mercy and his truth toward the house of Israel: all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God".

While we worshiped the Lord in our house fellowship last Sunday, (16th Aug.) we were overwhelmed at His presence. Even as the service started with Psalms 95: 6-7 Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker; for he is our God and we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care.

It's not that we learned how to do true worship, but we could only understand that He is God, a God who is mighty, who does marvelous things, His right hand brings victory. He has made known His salvation and by His grace through His Son Jesus we are saved. We come to worship Him for we're His people.

Even as Pastor, your prayer letter encouraged us to be positive, instead of hearing all the negative all the time in regard to the prevailing situations.

Dear praying friends,

Past two weeks have been wonderful. To begin with, our daughter Keziah appeared for her KCET entrance exam on 30-31 July amidst lock-down. Amidst fear and confusion of how arrangements would be, we were able to arrange for her to take the exam. Today, 20th August, by afternoon the results would be announced, we're waiting...

Virtual Ministry

Facebook Live Streaming: From August 1-19, every day 7.00 to 7:30 pm IST we had different Men of God who spoke words of exhortations, speaking faith, principles of good Christian life and leading worship in different languages from different corners of India. All this has kept me busy on the computer to make digital information, and improved my designing skills, and has enabled me to rebuild my lost contacts and make friends with new people.

Speaking Occasions:

A catholic/protestants group invited me to speak from Kolkata, where new converts joined in the late- night broadcast.

In two Facebook groups I shared about cross cultural missions and Heart for the harvest.

Word Enrichment Seminar "Equipping Saints for Evangelism" Kannada language: First time on a virtual platform, we were able to conduct a 5- day seminar. The viewership though was low, but only due to the language barrier. We learnt to do it in the future with translations.

What’s app Prayer Group

Daily devotions in Telugu addressing specific language groups had been a blessing to many. I find the reflection on the status they upload on their numbers. We still anticipate to start a Hindi devotion.

Daily Bible verse pictures in three languages meet thousands of people. Again, the reflection on their Whats App status encourages us that many use it for ministry.

On average, I receive more than 23000 messages on my what’s-app. Of course, many are forwards, but taking out time to read them is a challenge because among them are prayer requests that we need to filter out to share in prayer groups.

Ministry Reports

Continue to remember the Punjab ministry, as heavy downpours have badly affected the living conditions even in a well- planned city like Chandigarh. Our brother C sent clips of submerged houses.

Haryana, Ambala ministry started to follow the same pattern of our virtual ministry, where they developed local pastors’ Facebook group to meet everyday reports by Pastor S

Uttar Pradesh, Varanasi ministry has the most to talk about, God is at work. With continuous lock-down on weekends, the worship days keeps changing, where there are no preparations, no information, yet the believers gather as if from nowhere, out of blue. Pastor P continues to accept challenges and hardships, but with a winning attitude. He reports about new believers being getting strengthened faster than the old believers. He needs much prayer as daily new believers share their challenges and while sharing their testimonies many new seekers join with much anticipation.

Pastor J  reports that the non availability of worship place has scattered his people. He had his place of worship in a school, which for few months has been closed due to covid19. He is not able to survive due to no offerings, while he needs to support two children.

Brother R  reports the loss of his elder brother. With much difficulty he reached using his two- wheeler covering hundreds of kilometers.

Skills for Ministry

God has given me patience to learn new computer skills, designing and other aspects of streaming. I'm learning to use OBS software to some extent, I've done a lot of learning. While these improvements happen, craving for better gadgets keeps ringing in my mind. But praise God for whatever I'm having, I'm able to use it for God's glory. As I shared about a few in my last prayer letter, I hope if they are there in place would be a great help, but we're are not dependent on them as such.

A Christian leader who helped me in my initial ministry was affected with covid19. Praise God for the quick recovery God gave him.

Pastor M from Bengaluru reports of his mother chest condition, last week she was administered with two stunts. She is on medication.

Pastor Naveen, an acquaintance, was affected with severe covid infection, who sill is in hospital needs prayer. He is on recovery mode but on slow process.

My father is not well. He is 82yrsold  and his having a very bad chest condition and he is not able to breath properly. He might need hospitalization and medication. Soon after I finish this letter, he will be taken into hospital. Please pray as I alone am allowed to be with him.

My father-in-law & mother-in-law are both down with cold and fever. Please pray for them, as they live very far from us.

Our house rent still has a dues to pay. Last two months electricity bill has paid out. Daily essentials for food on the table were brought. Fuel for the vehicles are still under curtailment, but for basic needs two wheeler is being used. Need an extra cooking gas cylinder, as this is under needy condition. In all this we praise God to the shelter we've to live and worship without hindrances. I have much to say, though my heart is feels heavy. Could you all pray for us.
