March 3, 2025: He Calms Storms

“The LORD reigns, He is clothed with majesty . . . Your throne is established from of old; You are from everlasting. The floods have lifted up, the floods have lifted up their voice; the floods lift up their waves. The LORD on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, than the mighty waves of the sea” (Psalm 93:11-4).

Dear Praying Friends:

Regardless of who is more to blame for the extraordinary argument between the presidents of Ukraine and the United States, their spectacular public blowup has left millions in the Western world trembling with anxiety. The Atlantic alliance, once the bedrock of American foreign policy, seems to be in disarray.

No one knows what will happen next. The foundations are shaking; the floods of chaos threaten millions of people.

In times like this, we must remember that our God reigns. He ruled over the waters of the great Flood in Noah’s day, and he rules over the tumultuous politics of our time.

The risen Lord Christ sits on the heavenly throne with God the Father, governing all things for the good of his church (Ephesians 1:20-23). Nothing, not even the fall of a tiny sparrow, can happen apart from God’s will (Matthew 10:29). No one can snatch the followers of Christ from the hand of the Good Shepherd and of his Father (John 10:28-29).

For your prayers: Ask God to

  • Govern those who govern us and grant us all calm and trusting hearts amid outward turmoil.
  • Help me to prepare for the two presentations currently scheduled for me in Taiwan, and a possible third one on Carl Henry.

“Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, ‘Peace, be still!’ And the wind ceased and there was a great calm” (Mark 4:39).

Yours in his kingly care,
Wright
