Grace, Glory, and Good Things

“For the LORD God is a sun and shield; the LORD will give grace and glory; no good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly” (Psalm 84:11).

Dear Praying Friends:

As pilgrims make the long and arduous trek to Jerusalem, they remember how lovely are the courts of the Lord in the temple area and they long to dwell in the place where the lowly sparrow already has a home.

The travelers need energy and endurance for their journey, which will pass through a valley of weeping – a vale of tears. Some of them know the secret: their hearts are set on pilgrimage; that is, they are intent on reaching the house of God. In return, God grants them with a never-failing supply of strength.

In the end, they reach their goal – the presence of God, who constantly gives them light, protection, grace, and finally glory and honor. In short, every good thing.

So it is with those who trust in Christ, in whom is unending life.

Thank you for praying last week. God enabled me to finish the entry on William Soothill for the BDCC (find it here), make good progress on the chapter about Lit-sen Chang, and start writing notes on Hebrews 12. Both the women’s Bible study and Chinese Sunday school class went well.

Yours in the care of our Sun, Shield, and Granter of every good thing,
Wright
