What Do I Talk About?
“My praise shall continually be of You . . . Let my mouth be filled with Your praise and with Your glory all day. . . I will praise You yet more and more. My mouth shall tell of Your righteousness and Your salvation all the day . . . I will make mention of Your righteousness, Yours only . . . To this day I declare Your wondrous works . . . “ (Psalm 71:6, 8, 14-16; see also 24).
Dear Praying Friends:
Today’s psalm comforts and challenges me.
Comfort comes from remembering how God has dealt with me in the past, reflecting on his greatness and goodness toward me from birth until now.
At the same time, when I ponder what comes out of my mouth, the contrast between my words and those of the psalmist challenges me to the core. I remember what Jesus, Paul, James, and Peter said about the importance of the words we utter (Matthew 12:37; Ephesians 4:19; James 1:19-21; 1 Peter 2:1; 4:11).
May God give grace to think, talk, and sing about God – his glory, righteousness, strength, power (18), and faithfulness all day, every day.
Thank you for praying last week. I have only a few revisions to make in the chapter on Lit-sen Chang’s apologetics before sending it to Casey to be posted.
The editor of the other website and I had a very friendly conversation that has led to an amicable agreement about how to collaborate. The Lord also gave me several rich conversations and enabled me to write important and long overdue letters.
Dr. Leopold Leeb has graciously given me permission to post selections from his two books on Chinese Christians and missionaries in China on the BDCC website (https://www.bdcconline.net/en/stories/qu-ang-2).
Yours in his praise,
Wright
