SUFFERNG FOR CHRIST IN INDIA

I met Peter Pal in 1993 when I was visiting ministries supported by the church for which I was at the time serving as Director of Missions. He was still in high school but intended to go to Bible school to train to be a preacher, so I gave him my reference Bible. For several years while he was in Bible school, I supported him monthly.

We lost contact until a few years ago when he wrote me. At that time, he was leading a sizable ministry in southern India, but later they moved up north to be closer to his wife’s family.

Not long after this past Easter, he wrote to say that Hindu nationalists had violently attacked him and other believers attending a Bible study he was leading on Good Friday.

Later, he wrote again with more details:

Dear Pastor Wright,

My phone was broken up, it was an android phone, the screen is smashed and I can't access any files or phone numbers.

Things are not ok here, to be specific we are to vacate the house immediately within this week. Three months back I had taken up teaching in a small school; that too I have lost due to the agitation here. The house group can in no way meet in the house that we live.

I was hit on the head with a bamboo stick, and got a very bad injury. (not an open wound but a swollen head). A few other brothers got injuries on their hands and legs. (All being daily workers, they are now having a hard time to earn money). Somehow as much as I could, I helped them financially. A brother got his small finger fractured, and is undergoing treatment. Being all from low income class and daily wagers, they have made shift from this town to other. Our small group has totally being scattered. M My other also had been through a hard time; she tell unconscious.

Local administration was informed but of not much use. Things are disrupted but we are moving in silence. Brethren from other fellowships stood faithful and encouraged by serving and meeting basic needs.

I seek your prayers as much possible, and your concern, love and efforts to speak with the Indian embassy is much appreciated. It shows your heart for brethren in His Kingdom.

Your giving has always been so great help; especially in this incident I was able to spend much of it for the care and medical help.

But we have this treasure in clay jars to show that its extraordinary power comes from God and not from us. In every way we’re troubled but not crushed, frustrated but not in despair, persecuted but not abandoned, struck down but not destroyed.

Dear friends, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you.
But rejoice inasmuch as you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed.

Continue to pray and uphold us in prayers.

Your son in the Lord,
Peter

Then two weeks ago:

Greetings from India, and thank you so very much for the gift.

First of all, I want to thank the Almighty for His unstoppable sovereign grace that has led us and comforted us in situations out of our control. We are doing well in His mighty arms. Thank you all, everyone for praying for us and others of His fold that went thru situations that enabled us to not only glorify God and His Word but also made us calm our physical thinking to rest completely in His Word, Words of comfort, strength, guidance and grace.

We were able to extend a month in that same home, and was able to thank God for adding another year in my life to celebrate His love and grace on May 3rd. Still we are in search of a house, we hope to find one soon.

Keziah was able to write her 10th Grade Exams, and She got her results declared on 28th of May 2018, where she scored 72.4% marks. That's another great news to share with you all.

Now, she needs to join her Pre-University, she has prepared her mind to take up SCIENCE stream and become a medical student. Also praying for a huge amount to be paid for an year (Nearly 1,30,000.00 rupees about 2000 USD which will cover her Tuition Fees, Transportation, Coaching for Competitive exams) Which will be pain in installments. Please continue to pray for the same.

Pastor Wright, requesting you to initiate some sponsorship for Keziah's studies if possible.

My Health is doing well now, I had visited the hospital for my head and body pain. Few X-rays, and blood tests were done. My lower lumbar has some problems, Uric Acid is in high levels. Lot of medicines have been prescribed. I purchased rupees 1008/- rupees medicines. Head swelling is gone and I feel better now.

Phone Repair: My phone has been sent to repair, where they are going to change the display glass. Instead of spending huge amount on a new phone, I am getting it repaired.

Hello Pastor Wright,

Greetings from India.

One thing I wanted to discuss with you. Please guide me in this regard.

I am good at computers, with excellent typing speed. *(Both English and Hindi) I am able to read scribbled writings or typeset pdf materials.

The above statement is to get some work in this regard. If you know anyone who wants their materials to be typeset or any written manuscripts to be computerized I can be able to do so, so as to generate income and support my family.\

Secondly, Translation of books from English to Hindi. I have done few books, literature materials, training modules etc. The Hindi type set will be proof read and can be taken as a final print.

Thirdly, Voice Over into Hindi or in English. Both audio or Video, which I can do at home only. I got all studio podcasting, recording gadgets and software at home.

Right now I am without work, and needs are increasing more and more. Would you please prayerfully guide me in this regard.

Looking forward to hear from you soon.

your son in the Lord Jesus Christ,

Peter
